What is the SAT test
The SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) is a standardized exam that assesses academic abilities through its quantitative section, reading comprehension (in English), and grammatical and spelling rules. The maximum score is 1600. This exam is required for undergraduate studies primarily in the United States, but also more broadly.
SAT test scoring
On the SAT Reasoning test, you can score between 400 and 1600 points, or between 200 and 800 points in each testing area. Reading and writing together constitute one area, while mathematics makes up the other. The scoring method is as follows:
– You receive 1 point for each correct answer.
– There are no negative points for unanswered questions or incorrectly answered questions.
Additionally, there are scores you can achieve through analytical reading and problem-solving during the test, ranging from 10 to 40 points. The essay is assessed independently and receives scores between 2 and 8. The total points earned are converted into the SAT scoring scale. Conversion tables are created separately for each test.
SAT Reasoning scores are valid until the next administration of these tests.
What does the SAT test prep look like at Arte et Marte?
To successfully pass the SAT test, we recommend timely attendance of preparatory courses for the specific exam to gain test-taking experience and prepare effectively for the test. To achieve your desired results, it’s necessary to understand and confidently apply the specific techniques for this exam that can help you achieve a higher score.
Arte et Marte Approach
We emphasize the measurability of progress, so before enrolling in the course, we recommend taking a practice entrance exam, and at the end of the course, there is an exit exam (included in the course fee). Further work in a group or individual preparation will focus on improving skills in areas where you may have achieved lower results.
Arte et Marte SAT Course
Every SAT course at Arte et Marte is divided into two parts: the English section and the mathematics section. Students can choose both or only one part of the preparation. The ratio of hours dedicated to the English or mathematics section is flexible and defined in consultation with the student based on the results of the entrance test. The course includes improving the skills tested in the SAT, but more importantly, mastering the specific techniques for this exam. Some of these skills include special reading techniques and the recognition of specific information.
