What is the TOEFL test
The TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) test is an internationally recognized standardized assessment of English language proficiency. It measures the level of knowledge and understanding of the English language for individuals whose native language is not English. It is often a requirement for admission to overseas universities and is necessary for enrollment in many international study programs. It is widely accepted by European higher education institutions as well. The test assesses skills in reading, listening, speaking, and writing. There are two methods of taking the test: on a computer via the Internet (Internet-Based Test) at a test center or on a computer via the Internet from home (Home Edition).

The test consists of four sections:

What does the TOEFL test preparation look like at Arte et Marte?
For successful TOEFL test preparation, we recommend timely attendance of preparatory courses for the specific exam to gain experience in taking the test and to prepare as effectively as possible. To achieve your desired results, it’s necessary to be familiar with and confidently master the specific test-taking techniques that can help you achieve a higher score.
The Arte et Marte Approach
We emphasize measurable progress, so before attending the course, we recommend taking a practice entrance exam, and at the end of the course, an exit exam (both included in the course fee). Further work in group or individual preparation will focus on improving skills in which you achieved lower results.
The Arte et Marte TOEFL Course
The course includes improvement of skills tested on the TOEFL exam, but, more importantly, mastery of specific test-taking techniques. Some of these skills include special listening and reading techniques and recognizing specific information, as well as effective note-taking techniques in sections of the test related to listening, speaking, and writing.
Arte et Marte Principles and Methods
In our approach to teaching and counseling, we employ proven principles and methods that we have adopted and refined over years of pedagogical and methodological work. Group instruction is organized in small groups by appointment, and our professors maintain an individualized approach to each student during group sessions. We also consider it our task to provide students with the necessary assistance in a pleasant and relaxed working atmosphere.
Depending on your needs, prior knowledge, and schedule, we offer the following types of courses:
Group courses
GROUPS CRASH COURSE – 24 classes
The Fast Course is recommended for students who cannot dedicate an extended period of time to attend classes. Due to the significant number of hours and slightly shorter class intensity, this course assumes readiness for intensive additional self-study at home.
GROUP REGULAR COURSE – 30 classes
The Regular Course is an ideal choice for those who prefer group study within a relatively short timeframe. This course maintains an optimal pace and intensity to ensure adequate attention to all language skills and task types that appear on the test. It involves readiness for additional self-study at home.
GROUP INTENSIVE COURSE – 40 classes
The Intensive Course is the perfect option for those who want to prepare comprehensively and/or have limited time for studying at home, or those with a low score on the entrance exam who need to make a significant leap toward their target score. The Intensive Course provides ample time to focus on grammar review, all language skills, and task types encountered on the test.
Individual courses
INDIVIDUAL CRASH COURSE – 16 classes
The Fast Course is recommended for participants who cannot commit to a longer duration of classes. Due to the limited number of hours and shorter class duration, this course presupposes readiness for intensive additional self-study at home. Class scheduling, content, and dynamics of individual courses are fully adapted to the participant and the target result.
INDIVIDUAL REGULAR COURSE – 26 classes
This is the solution for you if you prefer preparation with maximum teacher support, quality literature and multimedia, along with optimal dynamics and intensity to provide sufficient attention to all language skills and task types that appear on the test. Class scheduling, content, and dynamics of individual courses are fully adapted to the participant and the target result, and the course involves readiness for additional self-study at home.
INDIVIDUAL MODULE – 8 classes
This course is for you if you need to improve your score in just one of the skills and/or if you have already been preparing for the exam on your own or with someone else. Class scheduling, content, and dynamics of individual courses are fully adapted to the participant and the target result, and the course involves readiness for intensive additional self-study at home.
INDIVIDUAL MINI PACKAGE – 3 classes
If you need only the most basic instructions for the test and/or you are starting to prepare at the last minute, choose this course. Class scheduling, content, and dynamics of individual courses are fully adapted to the participant and the target result.
